[origin: DE19736011C1] The positioning device is used for flat items (6) transported in containers (1) with straight sides, with a rigid body (2) pivoted in the transport direction, to pivot the item into contact with an impact plate (7) at the end of the container. The position of the rigid body pivot bearing (3), the length and the pivot range of the rigid body are selected so that the item is clamped between the rigid body and the container wall upon rearwards movement of the contact point with the item relative to the transport direction.
