Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19626299A1] The invention involves a spring for a floating calliper disc brake with a frame jaw calliper (3) which, in the middle section of its axial outer edge (7), has a side window (10) and on both sides of this window (10) openings (11) for an axial bracket (8) of a fixed brake anchor plate (1). The calliper is displaceably and axially mounted on the bracket (8) of the brake anchor plate (1). Brake linings (5) are attached on both sides of the disc brake (4) to the bracket (8) of the brake anchor plate (1) in an axial, displaceable manner and are also overlapped by the frame jaw calliper (3). The invention includes a one-piece curved wire holding spring (12), the middle section (13) of which is releasably attached to the axial outer brake lining (5) and which has two spring arms (14) that are essentially placed in a contrary tangential direction to the middle section (13). The holding spring biases the frame jaw calliper (3) radially against the brake anchor plate (1) and biases the axial outer brake lining (5) axially against the inside of the outer edge (7) of the frame jaw calliper (7).
