[origin: WO9749938A1] A transmission system (20) is provided for stopping-up the rotational speed of the compressor unit (18) in air conditioner systems of automotive vehicles during low speed of the motor. The system comprises a planetary gear assembly coupled between the motor and the driving axle (24) of the compressor, with two electrically or pneumatically controlled friction clutches (28, 54). The change-over of the transmission ratio is effected by engaging/disengaging one or both of the clutches, in relation to the motor speed.
