[origin: EP0908589A2] The access system (2) uses a base station (6) within the automobile passenger space (8) and an electronic key (4) for transmission of a communication protocol with the base station, to provide selective access to the passenger space by activation and deactivation of a passive access system. The operation of the access system via the electronic key may be limited, for limiting the access to the passenger space.
