[origin: EP0908676A2] Air used to nebulise the fuel is wetted prior to mixing with the fuel. The boiler (1) is operated by a process where fuel and nebulising air are supplied to the burner (2) to form a fuel/air mixture for combustion. The nebulising air is wetted prior to mixing with the fuel. An Independent claim is also included for the boiler apparatus, including a wetting device (5) for the nebulising air in the burner or the air supply pipe (4).
