[origin: WO9738874A1] The object of the invention is a device for vertically securing seat headrests, particularly for motor vehicles, the headrest comprising at least a shaft inserted in a socket (1; 30) attached to the frame (2) of the seat. According to the invention, the device comprises at least one bushing (3; 32), placed in a housing (12) inside the socket and equipped to receive and clamp the shaft, the shaft and housing having articulated cam surfaces so that the bushing selectively clamps or releases the shaft when the bushing is subjected, through the shaft, to stresses in a predetermined direction.
