[origin: EP0909851A1] A paper (I) with at least one side coated by a layer containing a pigment mixture (II) of organic and inorganic pigment, binding agent and cationic additive is claimed. The pigment mixture comprises 10-30 wt.% (wt. total pigment) of an amide resin organic pigment, with the balance inorganic pigment. The binding agent is a mixture of starch ether and latex. An Independent claim is included for a process for the preparation of a paper (I) by application of a composition containing (II), leveling and contacting with a heated highly polished cylinder to dry and form the layer.
