Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9847664A1] The invention relates to a screw clamp designed notably for clamping edge parts against the edges of workpieces extending between a lower and an upper face, which screw clamp comprises a clamping body, a first clamping jaw which can be pressed against the upper surface of the workpiece (27) and a second clamping jaw which can be pressed against the lower surface of the workpiece so as to fix the clamping body (14) against the workpiece (27). The screw clamp further comprises a device generating a clamping pressure, which device can be actuated by means of an actuating element and is designed to actuate an edge-compressing element acting on the edge part. To ensure that the screw clamp is as easy to use as possible and can be securely attached to the workpiece the invention provides for the clamping body (14) to have guide elements (25, 29) along which the clamping jaws (16, 18) can be slid away from and towards each other and for it to be possible to fix the clamping body (14) to the workpiece by sliding the clamping jaws (16, 18) along the guide elements (25, 29) in the direction of the workpiece (27).
