[origin: DE19627741A1] The invention concerns a pressure-maintaining arrangement for a fuel-supply system of a motor vehicle internal combustion engine (1), a pressure accumulator (5) being disposed in a supply line (7) which leads to the internal combustion engine (1). The pressure accumulator (5) comprises a pressure chamber (13) which is delimited by a movable wall (14) pretensioned by a pressure spring (15). The position of the movable wall (14) is detected by a distance-measuring device (18) and relayed to a regulating device (12). The regulating device (12) regulates the speed of rotation of a fuel pump (3) as a function of the position of the movable wall (14).
