Filler particles (1) are wetted with a plastics binder and poured into a mold (3). A breathable cover (7) comprises a layer of vegetable fibers, with synthetic fibers or fabric placed over the material before tool closure. The mold can be vibrated during the 30 minute curing time. There are Independent claims for: a) a compression resistant and breathable lightweight material; b) uses of the material.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von druckfesten und atmungsaktiven Leichtbaustoffen. Dabei werden Füllstoffteilchen (1), die aus Korkgranulat, Blähton, geblähtem Perlit oder pflanzlichen Fasern bestehen können, mit einem Bindemittel aus einem Kunststoff, vorzugsweise aus einem Polyurethan, benetzt und als lose Schüttung in eine Form (3) gefüllt. Der Leichtbaustoff wird dann durch Aushärten des Formteils gebildet. Als Komponenten des Polyurethans werden pflanzliche Öle und Isocyanat, wie PMDI, verwendet. Die Erfindung betrifft auch den nach dem angegebenen Verfahren erhältlichen, druckfesten und atmungsaktiven Leichtbaustoff sowie dessen Verwendung als Isolierelement, zum Beispiel in Form von Fußbodenplatten, Hauswandelementen oder als Dachplatten. Ein besonderer Vorteil des so hergestellten Leichtbaustoffs besteht darin, daß er aus im wesentlichen in der Natur vorkommenden Materialien hergestellt und so im Bereich des ökologischen Bauens verwendet werden kann. <IMAGE>
