Abstract (en)
The procedure consists of maintaining the mean temperature of the upper volume (5) sufficiently above the mean temperature of the lower volume (4) so that a narrow intermediate turbulent zone is formed between them, providing a horizontal barrier. The two volumes are swept independently by fluids injected separately into the upper and lower volumes and recovered at points adjacent to the intermediate mixing zone (3). The procedure confines pollution generated in upper and/or lower volumes of a chamber filled with a fluid such as air or water by thermal stratification. The fluids can be the same or different and are injected so that the vertical component of the turbulence speed is minimal.

La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de confinement de la pollution générée dans le(s) volume(s) supérieur (5) ou(et) inférieur (4) d'une enceinte remplie de fluide - de gaz, généralement d'air ou de liquide, généralement d'eau - par stratification thermique. Selon ledit procédé, la température moyenne dudit volume supérieur (5) est maintenue suffisamment supérieure à la température moyenne dudit volume inférieur (4) de sorte que lesdits deux volumes (5,4) sont séparés par une zone intermédiaire (3) turbulente de faible épaisseur, dite zone de mélange, au sein de laquelle se maintient un gradient de température élevé ; ladite zone intermédiaire (3) constituant, dans un plan horizontal, une barrière de confinement virtuelle. La présente invention concerne également le dispositif associé audit procédé. <IMAGE>
