[origin: WO9749530A1] The profile cutting machine has an endless circulating blade belt (22) running over cutter discs (30-34). To adjust the cutter (23) in the Y direction, the blade belt (22) has two merging loops (28, 36) where the loop (36) provides longitudinal equalisation. The blade belt (22) runs around the cutter disc (30) at the transition from the second loop (36) to the first (28) at a belt contact angle of some 270 DEG so that the same area of the blade belt (22) bears on all the cutter discs (30-34). The blade belt is always curved in one direction only. The useful life of the blade belt is lengthened owing to the avoidance of curvature changes.
