Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19713712C1] The invention relates to a radial fan, specially a ventilator for the cooling system in a motor vehicle, comprising a rotor (3) with radial blades (4), a nozzle-shaped covering disc (5), an air guide ring (6) fixed thereon, a rotor base and a stationary inflow nozzle (8). The inventive radial fan (1) chiefly displays enhanced tolerance between the rotating and stationary parts without incurring any notable loss in performance. This is achieved by providing an axial air gap (10) between the covering disc(5) and the air guide ring (6) rotating therewith.
