Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19747933C1] The suction cup has connecting pipes for a vacuum pump. The cup has a rigid shell (2) shaped to correspond to the part of the body to be handled. The inner face of the shell carries thin needles (8). A gap is left between the tips of the needles and the skin of the body part when in position. The shell can have a sleeve (4) to receive the stump of the amputated limb (1). The sleeve can have a sealing collar. Two low pressure shells can be incorporated into a support band.
