[origin: EP0913232A1] The machining device has a motor to turn the work-piece (10), two holding arms (1,2) with carriers (3) and pressing shoes, a grinding belt (15) with guides (11-14) and a device to move the holding arms reciprocally parallel to the rotation axis (A) of the work-piece (10). There is a plastics lining fitted either to the carriers or to the pressing shoes. The lining has a T-shaped cross-section. The lining projects slightly beyond the side walls of the other components, i.e. pressing shoes or carriers, and can be pushed back elastically. The other components are of U-shaped cross-section, fitting around the lining.
