[origin: EP0913308A1] The method involves using a run-in track (3) connected to switching tracks (5) via at least one set of points (7). Wagon units are successively delivered via the points to the switching tracks and parked near the points by moving the preceding wagon units along. A signal generator (11) at a predefined position along the switching track generates an activation signal for a signalling device (9) near the points if the first parked wagon unit passes the predefined position as the parked units are moved along. If the signalling device is activated, parking on the switching track is terminated.
