[origin: EP0913575A1] The method uses a control device (9) which detects the operating parameters of the engine, to allow the pressure in the high pressure fuel reservoir (6), supplying the electrically-controlled fuel injection valves (12), to rise in a given engine operating mode, with interruption of the fuel pump (3) until the pressure drops to its normal level when the normal drive mode is restored. An Independent claim is also included for supplying the internal combustion engine with fuel by an injection system.
