L'invention propose un contacteur du type dans lequel un contact mobile (34) en forme de plaque est traversé en son centre (50) par une tige de commande sur laquelle il est monté coulissant, caractérisé en ce que la plaque mobile de contact (34) est délimitée par deux bords latéraux opposés (60) dont chacun, au moins au voisinage de la partie centrale, se prolonge par une joue latérale (64) d'orientation axiale de manière que, au moins dans sa partie centrale, le contact mobile (34) présente, en section axiale, un profil en forme de U. <IMAGE>
