A chair lift comprising guide means (1) to be mounted along a staircase, a frame (2) supported by said guide means (1) and being movable along said guide means (1), driving means for moving said frame (2), and a chair unit (4) supported by said frame (2). The chair unit (4) comprising a seat (5), a back support (8) and an armrest (11), as well as a control knob (15) for controlling the driving means provided on said armrest (11).
