[origin: WO9804391A1] The invention concerns a method for impregnating hydrated fibrous organic matters containing constitutional water, <u>characterised</u> in that it consists in: firstly heating the constitutional water of the said matter; then, quickly putting said matter under reduced pressure so as to create a network of micro-channels substantially communicating from the core to the periphery of the matter by evaporation effect an essential part of the constitutional water; then, contacting the treated matter with an impregnating liquid previously heated to a temperature not less than the equilibrium temperature of the corresponding vacuum; finally quickly increasing the pressure so as to cause the impregnating liquid to penetrate into the formed micro-channels.
