Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2315763A] A process for the preparation of an agglomerated detergent composition comprises admixture of a detergent and an acid source, and formation of an agglomerate therefrom. The agglomerate may be formed into granules, flakes, prills, marumes, noodles or ribbons, or compressed into tablet form. The surfactant may be anionic, non-ionic, cationic, amphoteric or mixtures thereof, and the acid source selected from organic acids (preferably citric acid, glutaric acid, succinic acid or adipic acid) and inorganic (including mineral) acids (preferably monosodium phosphate, sodium hydrogen sulphate or boric acid). The agglomerate may additionally comprise an alkaline source, preferably an alkali metal carbonate, alkali metal bicarbonate, alkali metal sesquicarbonate, alkali metal percarbonate, alkaline earth metal carbonate, alkaline earth metal bicarbonate or alkaline earth metal sesquicarbonate.
