Abstract (en)
A fire retarding fitting for a door has the door frame fitted with strips of material which foams under heat to form a fire retardant barrier. The strips (12) are applied to the back of a U-shaped metal extrusion (13) which is located into a groove around the door frame. The extrusion has its flanges set into the frame and has a shoulder (24) to align the strips. It is secured to the door frame by fasteners through fitting holes (20). The extrusion is made of a good thermal conductor to spread the heat of the fire to the foaming material.

In einem aus Seitenpfosten (2,3) und oberem Querträger (15) gebildeten Türrahmen zur schwenkbaren Aufnahme eines Türblattes (1) sind Nuten (14) zur Aufnahme einer aus einem Halteprofil (13) und daran angebrachtem Aufschäumstreifen (12) gebildeten Brandschutzanordnung vorgesehen. Das Halteprofil (13) besteht aus einem wärmeleitenden Metall, vorzugsweise einer Aluminiumlegierung, und weist auf seiner dem Türblatt zugewandten Oberfläche den Aufschäumstreifen (12) auf. Dieser Aufschäumstreifen (12) wird bei Erreichen einer bestimmten Temperatur aktiviert, d.h. er vergrössert dabei sein Volumen um ein Mehrfaches und dichtet damit den Türspalt (10) im Falle eines Brandes ab. Damit kann vorteilhafterweise bei einer Türkonstruktion aus Holz über eine bestimmte, vorgegebenen Zeit eine Brandhemmung erreicht werden. <IMAGE>
