Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0918141A2] A camshaft (1) is coupled to the camshaft drive, e.g. sprocket wheel (2) by one of two spring loaded coupling bolts (4,5) parallel to the axis of the camshaft and gripping into tapering bores in the end of the camshaft. The bolts are pressed back out of contact with the holes by hydraulic pressure applied to either bore via a slider valve (12) through the center of the sprocket wheel. The noses of the bolts and the holes have a double taper. The amount of angular displacement of the sprocket wheel with respect to the camshaft is limited by peg and slot.
