Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0919666A1] The sleeper consists of at least one rigid block (2), especially of concrete, with its lower part set in a boot (20) molded e.g. from a rigid thermoplastic or resin concrete. The boot is in the form of a rigid shell with an inner sole (33) and pre-stressed segments (39, 40) which are elastic in response to compression or shearing forces. The sole and segments are fitted detachably to the boot and independently of the block, and the upper edge of the boot has a seal between it and the block.
