[origin: EP0919683A1] The fitting (15), e.g. catch plate or hinge support for a door or window with a groove in a vertical or cross member of its fixed or opening frame, has positioning (16) and fixing (17) elements to engage with the groove. The positioning element incorporates a marker (20) designed to ensure a pre-positioning of the fitting by engaging with a matching marker in the frame groove. The markers can be detachable, e.g. by breaking them off, so that the position of the fitting can be adjusted independently along the groove.
