[origin: EP0921053A2] The component contains a cast part (1) of liht metal and/or alloy, which has hollow profile sections (2) and one or more reinforcing elements (6), creating chamber-like forms (4) in the area of the hollow sections. The reinforcing element bridges the hollow sections and is fastened to them, so that the chambers have a closed profile and are open on one side only. The element is fabricated by internal high pressure forming. The cast part and element are connected by thermal jointing and adhesive.
