Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0921295A2] The method involves the on-board computer closing the exhaust gas flap and opening the exhaust gas feedback valve (11) to its maximum extent by sending suitable signals with the clutch (20) decoupled, before the diesel engine (10) reaches its upper critical revolution rate. If a primary retarder is present in the engine, it is used to automatically exert a defined braking force on the engine crankshaft.
