[origin: WO9808988A1] A furnace housing (10) comprising a treatment rotor (30) placed on and rotationally driven around a central axis (A) with loading stations (36), each receiving a load of work pieces. Secondary chambers (110, 110') are connected to the furnace casing (10) and are so designed that each of them can take up a work piece from the treatment rotor or give one to it. A lock rotor (60), also located in the furnace casing (10) and rotationally driven around a central axis (A) is composed of at least two lock chambers (64) which are placed against each other at an offset angle in relation to the central axis (A). The lock chambers (64), in order for each of them to take up a work piece load or give one up, open out alternately onto the vicinity of the furnace housing (10) and onto one of the secondary chambers (110, 110'). In order to transfer a work piece load between one of the said chambers (64, 110, 110') and the treatment rotor (30) transfer devices (112) are provided, wherein at least one of them is designed to transfer a work piece load between the lock rotor (60) and the treatment rotor (30).
