[origin: WO9901702A1] The invention relates to a humidifier adapted to be mounted in or on a ceiling; the humidifier comprising a housing (2); mounting means for mounting the housing (2) on or in the ceiling; a fan (26) for drawing air through the humidifier from an air inlet (12) to an air outlet (18); an evaporative matrix (6) disposed between the air inlet (12) and air outlet (18), and water supply means (42) for supplying water to the evaporative matrix (6) such that air passing from the air inlet (12) to the air outlet (18) is humidified by evaporation from the matrix (6).
