Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0922797A2] The mobile maintenance unit (10), to service a number of spinning stations at an open-end spinning machine, has a sensor (41) linked to a control (18) to check the identification mark at the spinning rotor (15). A yarn splicing operation can only start when the identification mark indicates that the spinning rotor (15) has been recognized and the operating units are in a correct alignment. The data carried by the identification mark is compared with stored data (45) at the service unit (10) control (18). The mark can be a machine readable barcode. The sensor (41) is at the cleaning head (16) of the service unit (10).
