[origin: EP0922924A1] Protection is given by enclosed units such that the mass of defensive elements (14) is 1 - 2 times that of the threat (16c) against which action is taken. The defensive elements are accelerated to a speed of 100 to 500 m/s. Elements may be accelerated chemically, mechanically, pneumatically or by a hybrid combination and two or more elements can be accelerated in different directions (15).
