Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0923015A2] The pedal has a sensor for producing an electrical signal dependent on the position of a pedal plate. The pedal plate is mechanically damped. A restoring spring (8) is provided as part of a spring-damper unit (5) which also includes a spring cylinder (6) in which a piston (7) moves against the force of the restoring spring, and a damper (14). The sensor may be a linear potentiometer or contactless detector.
