[origin: WO9810265A1] The pipette (10) of the present invention includes a housing (12) having a first generally cylindrical bore (14) passing longitudinally therethrough which contains a transducer assembly (20) centrally located therein, a microswitch assembly (50) positioned at the proximal end thereof and a barrel assembly (30) attached to the distal end thereof to extend outwardly in the distal longitudinal direction. The housing (12) also includes a smaller longitudinal bore (16) containing an ejector rod (18), held in its proximal most position by ejector spring (22) and prevented from escaping the smaller bore (16) by O-ring (24). An electronic assembly (40) is attached to the proximal end of the housing (12) and extends away from the housing (12) in a generally perpendicular direction.
