Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0924152A2] The cutter is moved in the travel direction of the web along a straight line section at a speed which is the same as the web speed, while the cutter is moved transversely to produce signatures of predetermined length. The cutter may be a knife, laser beam, high pressure fluid or heating element. Also claimed is an arrangement of transport system (22) for the cutter, and second transport system (42) for transverse movement.
