Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0924338A2] A novel drive mechanism for two parallel rollers, each with a gearing, and a linking torque support (6) between them. The torque support (6) has a longitudinal movement at least at one of the gear units (5). The torque support (6) has a telescopic structure. The torque support (6) is on the plane through the longitudinal axes of the two rollers (2), or has a tilting movement parallel to this plane on at least one end at a gear unit (5). A tongue and groove bond is between the gear housing and the torque support (6), along the length of the torque support (6). The bond is effected by a tongue which fits into grooves at the gear housing and the torque support (6). The groove is deeper than the tongue held in it. An exchangeable profile can be fitted into the groove, to form the groove which holds the tongue. The torque support (6) can be bolted to the gear housing with the bolts passing through elongated holes aligned on the longitudinal line of the torque support (6). A spring elastic spacer is round a bolt section to apply a pretension over a part of its potential spring path, as the bolt is tightened.
