[origin: EP0924346A2] The tensile element (22) provided in the length direction of the barrier beam (3) comprises a flat belt made from textile and/or plastic material, which is passed around the ends of the tree trunk half sections (7,8) forming the beam. The barrier beam is formed by round tree trunk sections (4) placed end to end and supported on uprights (5) driven into the ground by the side of the road. Hollow posts (19) and breakable screws (20) are used to secure the beam to the uprights. The tree trunk sections are divided in the vertical direction into two half sections held together by wood screws and nuts.
