Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9811345A1] The invention relates to a hydraulic pump in which a pump drive mechanism is rotationally driven by a drive shaft and accomodated in a housing chamber. The housing has two connecting openings for the supply and discharge of the hydraulic fluid to and from the drive mechanism, wherein the housing chamber presents an enclosed area receiving leakage fluid, whereby the housing also comprises a pressure discharge channel extending from said area to one of the connecting openings and the pumping direction of the pump depends on the direction of rotation of the drive shaft. According to the invention a pressure discharge channel extending from the enclosed area of the housing chamber to the other opening is also provided and all of the connecting openings are designed to accommodate a connection adaptor, which when used closes the pressure discharge channel leading towards the connecting opening receiving it. Also disclosed is a hydraulic engine.
