[origin: EP0926274A2] The feed trough (20) for fiber materials, at a textile machine, has a bend-resistant carrier (22) and at least one gap unit (24) attached to it which has elastic distortion. The gap unit has elastic distortion along the length of the roller against it, and has local elasticity. The gap unit is in one piece, along the roller length, and is in one piece with the carrier. The carrier is a hollow profile, with a holder (21) to act with a swing axis. The gap unit is curved, with a free-standing longitudinal edge (30), and a longitudinal edge secured to the carrier. The gap unit thickness decreases in the direction of fiber travel. The feed trough works with a sensor, such as a path movement or force sensor, to monitor the fiber mass between the trough and roller. The unit can have elasticity only in the edge zone of the free standing longitudinal edge, in a zone of 10-30 mm in the direction of fiber movement.
