[origin: DE19748954A1] The method involves generating an asymmetrical pair of keys, consisting of a secret key and a public key. The information to be printed includes a digital signature and unencrypted franking information. Before the data are prepared for printing, the message is asymmetrically encrypted with the secret key. Also claimed is a method of checking the security markings and an Independent claim for producing and checking security markings.
