[origin: WO9812495A1] The present invention relates to a device, in particular in a launcher, for launching preferably smoke hand grenades (6, 106, 206), comprising two or more launching pipes (3, 103, 203), each holding a hand grenade (6, 106, 206), the said grenades prior to launching being in a secured state, and with a view to providing a suitable release of the safety catches of the grenades (6, 106, 206) while at the same time activating and firing the involved hand grenades it is according to the invention proposed that the device comprises a common gas distribution unit (1, 101, 238) which upon launching communicates with the launching pipes (3, 103, 203) for conveying launching gas to each of the launching pipes, and that the device also comprises safety catch release devices (2, 102, 241) which come into effect at launching. It may be appropriate that one of the safety devices be executed in conjunction with one or several protective covers for the launching pipes (3, 103, 203), and that the protective covers comprise means which upon launching and opening/removal of one or several covers will release the safety catch on the respective grenades.
