Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0927602A2] The transfer line has a loading station (16) where a slab (2), lifted from a conveyor (1) by a pneumatic hoist (4), is accurately positioned by a traveling holder (5). The holder has rubber covered centralizing jaws and a suction pad, and traverses the slab past fixed grinders (3), the cutting angles of which are adjustable. Turntables (9) enable the slab to be repositioned between successive workstations (12, 13, 14, 15). At an unloading station (17), a pneumatic hoist (11) returns the finished slab to the conveyor.
