Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0927987A2] At one end the housing (11) tubular section (12) is closed by a base (13) and at the opposite open end evolves into a widened section (14) which has the shape of a flat shell with an edge (15). In an opening in the base is a cable passage (16). The complete housing is rotation-symmetrical to its axis (A-A), so that the edge (15) of the widened section (14) is circular round. In the tubular section is an electro-mechanical converter (20) of the piezo-electrical type. In the widened flat section (14) is a thin circular-round bending vibration plate (30) which via a rod (31) is mechanically connected to the electro-mechanical converter. The front side (30a) of the bending vibration plate is in contact with the air in which the wound waves are radiated or from which they are received and is completely smooth and even.
