Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9804389A1] The invention concerns a bolt or mat cutter (10) comprising: a right-hand and a left-hand handle part (12, 13) which are interconnected at an articulation (25), an attachment (19.1, 19.2) which is in each case provided on a handle part (12, 13) and projects over the articulation (24); a right-hand and a left-hand jaw part (17, 18) which are interconnected on a rotary shaft (28, 29) so that they can pivot towards and away from each other, and each of which is connected in hinged manner to one of the attachments (19.1, 19.2); and a region (33) of the two handle parts (12, 13) curved in an approximate Z shape. The invention is characterized in that the region of the Z-shaped curve (33) begins approximately at a spacing (53) from the articulation (24) which is greater than twice the length (51) of each of the jaw parts (17, 18). The left-hand handle part (12) is connected in hinged manner to the right-hand jaw part (18) and the right-hand handle part (13) is connected in hinged manner to the left-hand jaw part (17). In the opened state of the two jaw parts (17, 18), the two attachments (19.1, 19.2) are spread apart from each other in the region of the hinged connection to the two handle parts (12, 13).
