[origin: FR2753664A1] The invention concerns an air bag for protecting, in the event of a frontal impact, a passenger sitting in the rear of a motor vehicle, characterised in that the air bag (18) is stored in a housing (22) provided in a side panel (20) of the vehicle beside the passenger, and in that the air bag (18) is designed to unfold along a slightly oblique direction (A1) with respect to the transversal direction of the vehicle so as to unfold as close as possible to the passenger (10).
