[origin: WO9813542A1] The invention concerns an insulating element having at least one mineral wool insulating plate, bounded together with a binding agent and having at least one coating on a main surface of the insulating plate with surface-active substances, specially alkalis and/or alkaline earths to overcome hydrophoby. Said coating has a coloring differing from that of the insulating plate, which disguises discolorations of the insulating plate caused by chemical reactions of the coating with components of the insulating plate, particularly with the binding agent.
