[origin: EP0928580A2] Actuating mechanism for an adjustable lounger with seat part linked to a frame and movable into one of two fixed positions closes of a transverse rotatable shaft (15) operated by a handle at the side and a toggle lever (13) with one arm (16) fixed to the shaft and the other arm (18) fastened to the seat part (7). The angle of inclination of the seat part relative to the frame is changed by turning the transverse shaft to move the toggle lever from a bent position into an extended position. Preferably, the extended position is over top dead centre when the arm of the lever attached to the seat part comes up against a stop (20) in the form of a flat surface.
