[origin: EP0928625A2] The ride has a main frame with longitudinally guided passenger carriers. A brake unit (13), preferably an eddy current brake, for the passenger carriers (2) is located at the bottom end of the main frame. A cylinder unit (3) for the carrier drive has regulateable small drain valves (18) at one or both ends outside the dead centers (16,17). The cylinder unit has slot-shaped (12) fluid outlets (10,11) between the dead centers.
