Abstract (en)

A method of pretreatment for low-lead electrodeposition with no lead or with a low lead content is provided, which comprises the step of forming a zinc phosphate film on a metal surface so that a corrosion resistance value according to the AC impedance method is not less than 2,500 OMEGA cm<2>, and then subjecting the substrated metal with a cationic electrodeposition coating with a lead concentration of not more than 300 ppm.
