[origin: EP0930537A1] Carbonic acid bis-alkyl esters are water-immiscible high-boiling organic solvents useful for dispersing hydrophobic photographic additives in hydrophilic colloid compositions which are incorporated into light-sensitive silver halide photographic materials. In particular, said carbonic acid bis-alkyl ester compounds correspond to the general formula: <CHEM> wherein R1 and R2, the same or different, each represents an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, including straight and branched chain alkyl group.
