Abstract (en)

The reclinable armrests (3) form separate parts of the sofa (1) from the support frame on which the seat (2) and backrest (6) sections are mounted. The armrests can be rotated through at least 180 degrees about a central axis (D) between a position in which they are actually used as armrests and a reclined position for extending the bed surface area. Rotation of the armrests is achieved using a movable bracket (10) that can be locked into position. When the sofa is viewed from above, the rotation axis for the armrest bisects the seat (2) at least in half. The rotation axis also follows a less angled path than the plane of the non-reclined armrest position, when the sofa is viewed from the front.

Bei bekannten Sitz- oder Liegemöbeln sind Seitenteile in unterschiedlichen Neigungen relativ zu einer Sitzfläche verkippbar. Erfindungsgemäß ist das Auflageteil als vom Grundgestell getrenntes Bauteil gestaltet, und das Auflageteil ist mittels einer Halterung in einer gegenüber der Ebene der Lehnenposition flacher verlaufenden Stützebene derart lösbar am Grundgestell gehalten, daß das Auflageteil zusätzlich zu der Lehnposition in einer - auf eine zentrale Drehachse der Stützebene bezogen - um 180° verkehrten Liegeposition relativ zum Grundgestell positionierbar ist.
